Gorilla Silverback-XLite

NEW Utility ATV/UTV Tires — By on February 17, 2012 4:09 pm

STI Silverback-XLite tires.STI Tire & Wheel is thrilled to announce the release of its all-new Silverback-XLite. Mud enthusiasts around the country spoke, and we listened. This new tire is based on one of the most successful mud tires of all time—the Gorilla Silverback—but the XLite more accessible and useful to more riders.

The Silverback-XLite takes most of the features of the original Silverback and puts them in a lighter and more value-oriented package. It still delivers maximum traction in deep mud from its distinctive, aggressive, widely spaced tread pattern, but with less bulk. The lugs range from 1.125 to 1.250 inches tall depending on tire size. This allows for smoother, more versatile performance when not slinging mud in your favorite bog. It’s easier on the machine, and when comparing costs, it’s also much easier on the budget.

ATV Rider Magazine tested this tire and reported: “Truth be told that not everyone in the world of mud riding wants to twist a huge lugged mud tire out on the trails, especially if they don’t spend a lot of time riding in the deep stuff. This is where the Silverback-XLite shines like a new penny. …comes into a price range the average rider will appreciate. …no trouble creating a comfortable ride on the hard-packed surfaces …as comfortable as the stock tires that came from the factory. … Once the Silverback-XLite was dropped off into the mucky waters it seemed to have no trouble getting forward momentum… The semi-pliable tread on the new Silverback-XLite grabs at the trails with plenty of traction in or out of the mud and is a bit more controllable on the hardpack as well.”

The Gorilla Silverback-XLite thrives in the mud like its forebears, but is highly capable on trails as well. Photo by Rick Sosebee.

STI’s rugged 6-ply Silverback-XLite debuts in 11 sizes: 25×8-12, 25×10-12, 26×9-12, 26×11-12, 27×9-12, 27×11-12, 26×9-14, 26×11-14, 27×10-14, 28×10-14 and 30×10-14. This sizing is ideal for most popular utility/4WD ATVs and side-by-side UTVs.

Or if u wanna bypass the wife and send me a set, I’ll gladly give u some feedback! Wouldn’t that be some good publicity, guy writes a review, gets a free set of tires! Rock on gorilla Silverback!!!
